We're in Priest River Idaho (North Idaho) in Bonner County near Coeur D'Alene, Sandpoint, and Spokane Wa. We also have a home in Southern California. We started in Labradors in 1980. We love the Labrador Breed, and hope to enjoy the company of Labs forever. We have all three colors accepted in the Labrador Retriever Standard (Black, Yellow and Chocolate). If you're looking to enjoy some photos of Labs, or if you're trying to learn about the breed, we hope we have provided what you're looking for, and that you enjoy browsing the site.
In the past 28 years we have served on the Board of two Labrador clubs, holding neary every office and committee that one can hold in a dog club. We were founding members of our local club in So. Cal. At the present we hold committee positions for only one club, but are members of two Southern CA. Labrador clubs. We believe the Labrador Retriever is one of the best all-around dogs available. We can't imagine our lives without them. We are, and always will be, actively involved in the promotion and protection of the Labrador Retriever.

On Thursday, September 11th, 2010, an American flag should be displayed outside every home, apartment, office, and store in the United States . Every individual should make it their duty to display an American flag on this day, the anniversary of one of our country's worst tragedies. We do this in honor of those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms. In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism. Sadly, those flags have all but disappeared. Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity. Our American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all kinds. We will! Will you? |

A few of you have noticed that we have not updated our website in about a month. We had friends and family visiting us for two months, and have finally come up for air. We promise to do better. I'm busy taking photos now. For those who have asked, no, neither Katie nor Sparkle have come into season. Katie is due in first, and we have considered breeding her, but worry now that she'll have newborns in November when we want to go to California for the HDLRC Specialty, then will have babies here in snow country ready to go home in December. We're now rethinking our decision to breed her until her next season. Timing is everything! |

We have always updated our personal Facebook pages and Twitter pages with our Labrador news, but it seemed the time had come to separate our private posts from our Labrador posts. You can join us on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links within this text, or by going to the links on the right side of this page for that purpose. We'd love to keep in contact with all of the people we've come to know over the years through our dogs on these pages. We've also made our RSS link more visible on the right side of the page as well. What is RSS? RSS means Really Simple Syndication. RSS is a useful tool for keeping updated on your favorite websites. It makes use of an XML code that constantly scans the content of a website for updates and then broadcasts those updates to all subscribers through a feed. Basically, your computer will tell you when we've made changes to this site. My RSS subscriptions show up on my computer browser. For a broader explanation, CLICK HERE. We hope you enjoy these changes! |

From time-to-time I am alerted by folks who see that somebody with no talent to create their own site, steal the images made by us for our site. It infuriates us when someone with no talent for creating their own website slaps something together, then uses the words and images of others to make themselves feel important. If one will take the hard work of others to build a page, one can only imagine how bad the information (misinformation) they've gathered is. I would never purchase a puppy from someone who would steal from another person. That email graphic is ours! This is the original graphic uploaded to our server on 4-19-2002: The puppy in the graphic was bred by us in 1998 and this is the image of her that the graphic was made from: |

Okay, I've been drowning in queries about the ball you see my dogs playing with on our candid camera page. To help in answering those queries, here's the scoop: First, I do NOT work for the company who makes these balls. I stumbled on them at Cabelas, while visiting my husband at work. I bought two. I bought two more. Four aren't enough. My dogs absolutely love the darned things. The Pawzzle Ball is a hard plastic 10-inch ball with large holes in it. Inside, there’s a smaller ball made of a softer material. It’s big enough that one dog can’t hog the toy from other dogs, thus allowing for multiple dogs to enjoy the ball at one time. They seem to delight in playing keep-away with this ball. The holes in the ball provide grips for dog mouths or human hands. The holes are not so small as to risk a dog getting his muzzle caught in the hole. I do not know if they would pose a risk to small dogs getting their heads stuck in the hole, and personally I'm not sure why anyone would purchase a toy this large for a small dog, but for Labrador retrievers and other large dogs, it is the perfect toy. Mine never grow tired of it. So far, 17 Labs have not made more than scratches on the ball. I thought for sure they would chew them to pieces by now, and they surely have tried, but so far, they have been unsuccessful. I've never endorsed a product before in my life, but this one I absolutely feel comfortable in doing so. As a result of the enjoyment my dogs have received, this is the note I sent to the maker: " I wanted to tell you how much my dogs enjoy this toy. I've owned, shown and bred Labrador retrievers for almost 30 years, and never have I found a toy that brought my dogs so much joy. Having recently moved to Idaho, many of their small balls were lost in the snow and then lost when we had to plow the parameter areas, which meant buying more balls (which can be expensive). Obviously, this large ball can't be lost or turned under so easily and they seem to be nearly indestructible, which is important with Labradors (who love to chew up anything they can). If you are interested, I post photos of my dogs on my website, and I have had probably 100 or more queries about the balls my dogs seem to be having so much fun with: http://www.blueknightlabs.com/kennelcam.html If you receive a good number of sales of this ball, you can attribute some of it to my response to those queries. I have become so tired of answering emails regarding the balls, that I have now put an article on my main page (www.blueknightlabs.com) regarding the ball. I own four of them, and with 17 dogs, that's not even enough. My husband works at Cabelas in Post Falls, ID. which is where I found the balls and have referred people to purchase them. I will be forwarding this note to them as well, so that they know how much pleasure this simple product has provided to our dogs, as therefore to us. Thank you for this product. We've often been asked if we would provide a link to the loved pets who have left our house to carry on the important job of "family member". We’ve started with images we’ve received in the past year. The link on the left side of this page is called " Extended Family Members"
If you have a Blue Knight dog, and wish to share a picture, please feel free to send them to us.
